Privacy notice

Artificer operates under the trading name Artificer Industries. We are responsible for the personal information described in this notice. If you have questions about how we use your information, or want to exercise your data protection rights, contact hello@artificerhq.com.

Registering interest. If you register interest we collect your name, email address, the service background and role you select, and anything you choose to write in the optional message field. We use this to keep you informed about relevant community activity, programme updates and related opportunities, and to understand who is interested. The lawful basis is your consent: the consent box is never pre-ticked. Kit stores your registration and confirmation status, and the form records your email permission. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below).

Email you send us. If you contact us (for example via the partner contact route), we hold your email and the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who write to us.

Site analytics. Where enabled, optional PostHog analytics helps us understand visits, traffic sources, registration steps and briefing-link clicks. It runs only if you choose Accept all. It uses a randomly generated browser identifier stored on your device, rather than your name or email address. We do not send your form answers, full referral URLs or confirmation-link tokens, or record your session. We do not use analytics to decide who can join Artificer.

You can decline and still use the whole site and register interest. Where analytics is enabled, Cookie settings at the bottom of the page lets you change your choice. We remember that choice for up to six months. Declining stops further collection and clears the browser identifier; it does not remove events already collected, which PostHog keeps for up to one year. Netlify still processes technical information needed to host and protect the website, as described below.

We use a small number of service providers, each processing data only on our instructions:

• Kit(ConvertKit LLC, United States) stores registrations, sends the confirmation email and handles unsubscribes. Data sent to Kit is transferred to the United States with recognised safeguards in place for UK transfers, including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. • Netlify (United States) hosts the site and, like any web host, briefly processes technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs to serve pages and protect against abuse.
• Google Workspace handles email sent to our contact address and our replies.
• PostHog processes optional analytics in its EU Cloud region when enabled and accepted. See its privacy notice.

We do not sell or share your information for marketing. We do not send you marketing emails beyond what you signed up for. We do not use advertising trackers or automated decisions about admission. People who contact us by email are not registered or added to our email list unless they ask to be.

We keep registration details while they are needed for the community activity and updates you requested. We review continued need as that activity develops. If you unsubscribe, marketing emails stop, but Kit retains an unsubscribed record. We may retain limited information to record your email preferences and consent and avoid contacting you again by mistake. Unsubscribing does not itself delete your data. You can contact us to request deletion. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with it and any resulting commitments.

You can withdraw consent to community and marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails, or by emailing hello@artificerhq.com and we will stop those emails. Under UK data protection law you also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

If this notice changes in any way that matters, we will update this page and, where the change affects registered subscribers, tell you by email. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
