Privacy notice

Artificer is currently operated by Adrian Wong, trading as Artificer Industries, who is the data controller for the information described here. A limited company is being incorporated; when it takes over the running of Artificer, this notice will be updated to name it as the controller. The waiting list. If you join the waiting list we collect your name, email address, the service background and role you select, and anything you choose to write in the optional message field. We use this to keep you informed about the founding community and the first programme as they take shape, and to understand who is joining. The lawful basis is your consent: the consent box is never pre-ticked, and we keep a record of when you gave it. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below).

Email you send us. If you contact us (for example via the partner briefing route), we hold your email and the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who write to us.

Site analytics. We may measure how the site is used with PostHog, hosted in the EU, running in cookieless mode: no cookies, no local storage, no identifier that follows you between visits, and no advertising or cross-site tracking. This gives us anonymous, aggregate usage information (such as which pages are viewed), on the lawful basis of our legitimate interest in understanding whether the site works. Because it sets no cookies or similar identifiers, no cookie banner is required.

We use a small number of service providers, each processing data only on our instructions:

• Kit(ConvertKit LLC, United States) stores the waiting list, sends the confirmation email and handles unsubscribes. Data sent to Kit is transferred to the United States with recognised safeguards in place for UK transfers, including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. • Netlify (United States) hosts the site and, like any web host, briefly processes technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs to serve pages and protect against abuse.
• PostHog (EU-hosted) provides the anonymous analytics described above.

We do not sell or share your information for marketing. We do not send you anything beyond what you signed up for. We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, profiling or automated decision-making. Investors, partners and institutions who contact us by email are not added to the waiting list.

Waiting-list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until the waiting list is wound up, whichever comes first. We retain the record of your consent for as long as we are required to be able to demonstrate it. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with it. Anonymous analytics contain nothing to delete about you personally.

You can withdraw consent at any time: every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email hello@artificerhq.com and we will remove you. Under UK data protection law you also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email us at the address above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

If this notice changes in any way that matters, we will update this page and, where the change affects waiting-list members, tell you by email. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
